The IEU are running an after-school event for all Early Career teachers (teachers in their first five years of teaching, including CRTs) in the Geelong region. The event will be an opportunity to network, find out about the union and learn about your rights and entitlements in the workplace. Your local IEU Organisers Heather and Jacqui will be running a 101 session covering duty of care responsibilities, employment rights and conditions, what to do if a complaint is made against you, and some guidelines for electronic communication and social media use. The content will meet some AITSL standards and current VIT requirements for Provisionally Registered teachers.
This event is free and includes light refreshments. Both members and non-members of the IEU are welcome!
