PD Webinar - Parent teacher interviews

The opportunity to meet with parents and carers about a student's progress can be a challenging situation. Parents may use the interview to raise issues or may just be unfamiliar with the usual school processes. The need for a teacher to communicate specific information about the student in a short amount of time also raises challenges. This session will explore proactive strategies to create a positive climate for these interactions. The presenter will focus on practical skills to manage these difficult conversations, whether in formal setting such as parent teacher interviews or informal settings in the school grounds or at school functions and ways to build and maintain positive relationships.
