Petitions surge towards 10,000 as 140 workplaces clear 50 per cent!

Petitions of Support are continuing to pour in from schools and workplaces across Victoria.

Thursday was our biggest day since the campaign began, with 1200 additional petitions counted in a single day as our colleagues in government schools took the kind of industrial action in support of a fair deal that we continue to be denied.

That is an extraordinary demonstration of determination from staff across Victorian Catholic education.

Two employers are over the line, and a third on the verge…

At the top of our employer-wide league table, FCJ College Benalla continues to lead the way, with a clear majority of staff supporting fair bargaining – and as of today, it’s been joined by Catholic College Sale, which has just tipped into majority! St Bede’s College is close behind needing just a handful more supporters to demonstrate a majority.

These results show what can happen when Reps, members and supporters speak with their colleagues and make sure everyone has the opportunity to sign.

Employer-wide figures, however, can hide the extraordinary results being achieved at individual schools and workplaces.

Last week, we celebrated 30 workplaces where a majority of staff had signed.

That number has now grown to 140!

With so many schools now over the line, we have expanded our workplace league table from a Top 30 to a Top 50.

We won’t publish the exact figures beside individual workplaces, but every workplace below has passed 50 per cent support – in fact most of them have passed the 70% mark!

We’ll update this table next week – can you get your school on the list?
