Tasmanians make the IEU noticeable
One of the requirements for contestants in the Tasmanian IEU noticeboard challenge was to ‘make it sparkle’.
Congratulations to St Patricks College, Prospect for their winning entry!
As the photos show, entrants needed no prompting – these three noticeboards highlight the creativity and commitment of our IEU Reps.
The competition celebrates the vital role noticeboards continue to play in boosting union visibility and engagement.
Runner-up: Sacred Heart School, Geeveston
Third place: St Cuthbert’s Catholic School, Lindisfarne
Most Enterprise Agreements, including many covering IEU members, protect the right to a designated union noticeboard – a right further supported by last year’s ‘Delegates Rights’ federal legislative changes. These spaces share updates on meetings, negotiations, rights education, safety, and union wins – and help show that the union is active, organised and welcoming.
Every IEU workplace in Victoria and Tasmania is entitled to one. If your noticeboard needs setting up or a refresh, contact your Organiser or the union office.
