No More Freebies! Enough is enough!

No More Freebies - we need a deal!

We’ve waited too long. Our colleagues in Victorian government schools and in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sale have locked in new Agreements with big workload improvements, pay increases, better conditions and more.

Meanwhile, staff in Catholic schools across the rest of the state are still waiting. It’s been two years since our last pay rise, and 18 months since our last Agreement expired.

Our schools run on goodwill - but goodwill needs to go both ways.

In Term 4, until this deal is done, Catholic school staff will be saying ‘NO MORE FREEBIES‘.

No attendance on school campuses outside of scheduled duties. No additional extras for secondary teachers. No combined classes exceeding class-size limits. No opening classrooms early or hanging around at the end of the day ‘in case parents want a chat’ for primary teachers. No ‘voluntary but encouraged’ attendance at information nights, concerts, fetes or mass. No to anything outside the classification descriptors for Education Support Staff. No to overtime requests. No to ‘I know you’re busy, but would you mind just…”.
