Template Letter of Support

Dear College Board and Leadership,

I am writing as a parent of a student at Overnewton Anglican Community College (the College) to express my support for our teachers and education support staff as they seek a fair outcome in their current enterprise agreement negotiations.

I understand that staff have been negotiating with the College since March and are seeking wages and conditions that remain competitive with the broader Victorian education sector.

As a parent, I value the dedicated teachers and support staff and expect the College to continue to attract and retain high-quality staff.

The strength of the college community, student wellbeing and academic outcomes relies on experienced and committed staff choosing carers at the College.

It concerns me that College wages and conditions will fall behind our counterparts in the majority of the Victorian education sector. Losing experienced and valued staff because they can receive better pay or conditions elsewhere would not be in the interests of our children or the College community.

I respectfully ask the OACC Board and College leadership to listen to staff and work with the Independent Education Union to reach a fair agreement that keeps OACC wages and conditions competitive.

Supporting OACC staff means supporting our children and the future of our College.
