Explicit instruction breaks down what students need to learn into smaller learning outcomes and models each step. Modelling and guided practice is the process 'I do, we do, you do', supporting explicit instruction through incorporating worked examples and joint constructions for new concepts before students further develop their skills with individual tasks.
