Overnewton staff are taking
action to improve our school

Overnewton teachers and education support staff are proud to work together to provide the education, care, and support that our students deserve.

We want Overnewton to remain one of the best places for students to learn. To achieve this, it also needs to remain a great place for teachers and support staff to work.

What is happening?

Since March, Overnewton staff have been negotiating with the College for a new Enterprise Agreement to deal with pay and working conditions.

After months of negotiations, the College’s current offer would leave Overnewton staff with pay and conditions inferior to those in much of the Victorian education sector.

Why does this matter to families?

Strong schools depend on strong, experienced staff.

When teachers and education support staff feel valued and can build long-term careers at Overnewton, students benefit from the stability, expertise and relationships that come with that.

Taking industrial action to call on OACC management for fair pay and conditions is not something staff have decided to do lightly.

We want experienced staff to stay, and we want the College to continue providing the quality education our students deserve and that families invest in.

Parents: You can help!

We need College leadership and the Board to hear that keeping great staff at Overnewton matters to families too.

Thank you for your support.
